« CTI Entrepreneurship – the Swiss federal training program for startup founders »

ACIDE has the pleasure to present you the free and fast track federal entrepreneurship program of Business Concept in Lausanne, Yverdon, Fribourg and Sierre, starting from September 2015. This program, led by the EPFL Innovation Park for Western Switzerland, will provide you with practical tools about entrepreneurship.

Designed and given by experienced entrepreneurs, this federal program provided by the Commission of Technology and Innovation (CTI) is intended for students and faculty members of Swiss. The training program is designed for people with entrepreneurial spirit who have the ambition to bring their research to the market, to jumpstart their business or to play a key role in a dynamic start-up company.

Training concept
This inter-university entrepreneurship training aims to provide practical tools to motivated participants of all disciplines, in order to foster an entrepreneurial culture and to transform innovative venture ideas into feasible business projects.

The 10 evening sessions of 4-hour intensive training combine lectures, discussions, teamwork, guest-speakers and peer reviews, and offer a blended, hands-on learning experience to participants in order to acquire key skills linked to the start-up project development: product market fit, IP protection, marketing and financing strategies, building a strong teams and presentation skills, etc. In addition, each project team will receive personalized coaching and an expert of their field will follow the development of the project.

Throughout this hands-on training, participants will not only acquire a basic business skill set and extend their professional network, but also broaden their career perspectives and be fully prepared to make a smooth transition from academic world to private economy, in a start-up or within a large corporation.

Cost, personal commitment & prizes
Business Concept is an ex-curriculum program and its cost is fully covered by the CTI. At the end of the training, the best projects will be selected to gain access to additional coaching and potential seed funding.

Selection criteria
The selection of the participants is mainly based on motivation, the level of ambition, past experiences as well as the personal commitment. It could also be based on a special skill set of the candidate as well as a potential innovative business idea. Sound knowledge of English is necessary to follow the course. Group discussion or presentations can be done in French.

Deadlines of application and admission
Registration is now open until the 1st of July 2015. Candidates will be informed of the decision of the selection committee by mid-July. The confirmation of attendance is expected by the end of July.
