Academic Title

Scientific staff members are persons employed by the EPFL, after a PhD or equivalent professional experience, to take on training and research assignment.  EPFL defines academic titles corresponding to different levels, establishing the process for the awarding of these titles. The aim is to specify the academic level and promote the career and professional mobility of scientists. It deals with academic titles only.

Nominations and internal promotions

Between 2005 and 2007, 28 scientists were awarded the title of senior scientist and 27 of adjunct professor.

Between 2008 and 2010, 42 scientists were awarded the title of senior scientist and 25 of adjunct professor.

Between 2011 and 2013, 26 scientists were awarded the title of senior scientist and 11of adjunct professor, recognizing their teaching and research skills.
